I just recently picked up a real nice manuelas sandbag and i was wondering if anyone had any tips or pointers for a beginner. ive had years of soccer experience so i have foot skills but i can't seem to make any progress.

maybe theres a good pair od shoes to wear, i dont know. just dont tell me practice makes perfect because only perfect practice makes perfect.

Indoor shoes work well actually. A good tip is to remember the hacky sack has more weight then a soccer ball. The hacky sack will fall faster and requires more snap to bring it back up. Try starting with the sack on your knee and drop it to your feet and get a good feel for the weight. I've found better luck with this then starting with your feet like you would with a soccer ball. The weight will also let you pull more tricks with the hacky sack like starting out resting on your toe and pulling your foot back(like prepping for a kick but keep your toes pointed upward), relax your foot at the end of the back swing and the sack will pop up or if you kick back hard and snap enough, it will come over your shoulder. If you find it a little hard to get juggles going with the tops of your feet, try using the insole instead, it gives a larger surface.

I used to wear Vans shoes and they are really good for hackin'. Just carry a hacky around with you and pull it out whenever you are bored. People will want to play and then you can watch what they do to learn new techniques. That's what I did and now I can consistantly get close or over 100 easy. Good Luck.

Be careful of walls. They aren't strong like hacky sacs :(
