At times we dream about deceased relatives or friends simply because we miss them. These dreams may be disturbing but most likely are a form of wish-fulfillment or are based on memory through which we relive old experiences. Some people believe that in dreams they meet up with the deceased on the inner planes and engage in "real" interactions with them. It is normal to miss and long for the people that we loved and that have left the physical body. Therefore, it is not surprising that they will pop up in our dreams from time to time.

Hi there!
dreaming about someone you loved that has died does happen, the best thing about this is that the dreams are always great until you wake up to realise that the person is not there, I think its kind of a way of remembering the person, I lost my mum four years ago, and the day after she died I dreamt about her and i still have dreams once in a while, not often but lets say a couple of times in a year, yeah it brings back all the feeling of loss but it reminds you of all the good times you had and how much you loved that person and how much you should value the people you have in your life.I dont know for how long it should last but if its really bothering you, you should seek further advice. All the best and dont worry, its normal

Its normal to dream things like that. Its your subconscious mind, reminding you of how much your dad means to you. as you don't often think of him when you are awake, your mind tells you over and over again how much losing your dad really hurts you. You can prevent these things if you truly want to, but i am going to ask you, is forgetting your dad a good thing? i mean don't these dreams please you, and make you remember the way things use to be before he died? sure you wake up missing him, but as long as you can control your mind you will be OK, why not try to find sentimental items that belong to your dad, maybe remembering him when you are conscious is the antidote to occurring dreams.
Hope it works out

I lost my dad when I was 10 and the same thing happened...I'm 30ish now and any time some big change happens in my life I talk to him in my dreams...I like to think that he is still a part of my life and knows me as an adult..maybe he's watching over, protecting, etc. I know it hurts for him to not be here...but I think you (and he) were lucky to be in each others lives..appreciate that you had that.

You may be going through a particular period in your life when you might subconsciously feel like you would need your father.
I had dreams of a dear friend who passed but he was always dead in it, wearing the prom tux he was buried in. I was always trying to hide him or keep them from taking him. I woke up crying and said outloud, "If you want to come to me in my dreams, at least let me see you alive!" I never had another dream of him dead again. The subconscious is a very powerful thing.

There could be a whole lot of reasons for this. My best guess is that there is something going on in your life which you would like to have your father's opinion/advice about or that you would like him to see (because he'd be proud). And I'm sure he is proud of you! Very often family members who have passed come in our dreams to let us know they are still watching over us. It is also possible that you weren't open to this before or he felt you weren't. Enjoy those dreams, they are very special gifts.

I sometimes dream of my father, too. Those times are precious, and are all I have to substitute for the times when he was alive but we couldn't talk. One day, we will be together again, those dreams keep his memory alive and are a gift

definite. As maximum ppl comprehend, I had a dream of Heath ledger, in the previous he died. Jan. 18, and on Jan. 22 the international mourned. I nonetheless mourn. Hubby informed me to no longer make the call that ppl does no longer take me heavily. that they might call me a star stalker. He certainly talked me out of becoming the call.

I lost my Mom in Oct, '06. I've had 3 dreams about her. She looked beautiful. And, we were always shopping in my dreams. I feel better because I saw that she was happy and in no pain.

Yes. It took me ten years and we weren't even that close. Yet, in a way, we were because I am like him. You loved your father so much that it hurts you every time you have to relive his death and his absence. He is with you now. Be strong for him. ( I would not lie to you.)
