Wear a brighter shirt underneath, or use a colorful tie, if you wear one. This will take away from the boring black suit.

I wear business attire daily and it doesn't have to be "the boring black suit". Do accessorize, but with these outfits, less is more - if you get too loud with accessories, you start looking tacky. On men, I've found an eye-catching tie clip/pin and a small glimmer of color does the trick - it's more classy than those "look at me" tacky ties. Mostly, make sure your shoes are shined, watch is polished, hair (facial also) is groomed, and 1-2 sprays of cologne and your full image should be boosted to debonair - a complete package.

Use a colouful shirt with a tie to match. Colours such as pink and lime green are stunning in a black suit, and still look professional. Alternatively wear a black shirt and team it with a silk white tie.

Try different colored shirts. I like to where a light purple shirt with a dark purple tie under my black suit. Looks fantastic! Pick a color that goes well with your skin tone. Black pretty much matches everything so skies the limit.

Change the blouse you wear under it give that some color besides white, keep the stockings tan, taupe, and the black pumps.

Different colors will look good, for example if you pick a red blouse you could switch the pumps to red to match it will look great.

Do coordinating dress shirts & ties. Avoid tacky ties and loud colors, go for subtle trendy. Nordstroms and Macy's show great combinations on their displays, go for that.

A nice colored tie. Just keep it simple yet bright. Ex. A red tie with stripes on it.
