I'm headed up to AK in late April and will be there until mid-May. What kind of temperatures can I expect and what should I wear?

We will be into the tale end of Spring Break Up... So (keeping fingers crossed), we should be into temperatures in the 50's, maybe low 60's during the day, just above freezing at night, until May, then the temps will rise into the 40's overnight.

Plan on bringing a warm coat that is water repellent, as it does get rainy as we head towards summer. Depending on what brings you North, just be casual. We are blue jeans kinda people. Obviously if it is business, well, dress for success.

We won't have much for plant growth yet, again, we are just passing out of winter. Trees will be bare, no leaves yet, but lots of buds. Many areas of higher elevation will still have snow. You can in fact go skiing at Alyeska just South of Anchorage.

What you will find is the long hours of daylight. We are now having daylight until 8:30 pm; and by the time you get here... about 9 to 9:30 pm... broad daylight.

You should see the rest of the summer months.
