Lucy Noland anchoring Fox 5 Live on January 24, 2007.Lucy Hoathi Noland (born 1965 in Saigon, Vietnam) is a Vietnamese-American news anchor. She is currently the newsreader on Good Day New York and anchor of Good Day New York Wake Up and Fox 5 Live.
Lucy's father was an American CIA agent and her mother was Vietnamese. After the Vietnam War, Lucy and her family moved to the United States. First she lived in Oregon for most of her childhood, later moved to Alaska.
Noland graduated from University of Alaska Fairbanks, she also was a reporter for the school's radio station KSUA-FM. She eventually became an intern at the Fairbanks station KATN-TV. In years later, Noland worked for CBS, CNN and ABC. On January 25, 1992, Noland gave birth to her son, Christian. In 1997, Noland joined the WJBK-TV morning news show in Detroit, where she got the most attention to be an attractive news anchor. She also missed a tremendous amount of time while at WJBK. In mid-2000, Noland took a maternity leave from WJBK to give birth to her daughter.
In February 2004, Noland left WJBK-TV and joined WNYW-TV in New York City as co-anchor for Good Day New York. In mid-2005, Noland was demoted to newsreader when Jodi Applegate took over as co-anchor. Noland also began to anchor Good Day New York Wake Up from 5 A.M. to 6 A.M. and Fox 5 Live, a midday news show. Noland is also a regular guest on Fox News Channel's The Live Desk with Martha MacCallum. One of her infamous moments at WNYW occured in late 2005, when Noland said "******" in a conversation with Applegate on Good Day New York. [1]
In her three year stay at WNYW, Noland has become a fan favorite among the viewers in New York's Tri-State Region for her great sense of humor and good looks. Many fans have called her the hottest news anchor in New York.
