I would like to show my students a movie somehow related to the novel (not the actual Animal Farm movie) before we start reading it. I would appreciate any suggestions. :)

How about Chicken Run? The animals revolt in that one but they don't turn on each other as in Animal Farm.

If you're looking for a good idea gone bad movie try Mosquito Coast. An engineer goes to South America to help the locals lead improved lives through technology but lets his leadership role go to his head and becomes despotic.

Or now that I think of it Dream Girls - black music producer overthrows white music producers to give control of music to black musicians only to become just as exploitive as the white producers.

I wish i could remember the name, but there's this movie about a guy that has these special sunglasses, and when he puts them on he can see the world as it really is, how ugly people really are, how everything is being used to control people. Perhaps someone knows it.

But "Soylent Green" is about thh government control of people's lives, starring Charlton Heston. Among other things, the scoops come for crowd control and bring people away to a place where they are turned into food for the masses. Very futuristic but makes the point.

My English teacher allowed us to watch the black-and white cartoon movies entitled "Animal Farm" around the year 1968 as part of our external reading, I think it was produced by the British producers in the UK. Thus, I'm wondering if you can search via the Internet for its DVD or VCD version nowadays or there might be in the multi-colored film instead.

Lord of the flies - has the same general theme...

Good people take a position of power and begin to abuse it and end up killing each other...

It's sorta the same.
