I can either by a customized XPS dell desktop or an Auro m7900 alienware laptop. I want the one that is the best for gaming but will also allow me to carry out other needs, like doing homework. There both basically the same price and it will be stationed in a work station in my room. Tell me what u would buy and why. thank you

I've had problems with Dell service. I have bought a Gateway and had very good luck with it. I suggest a Gateway.

Well, without product specs it will be hard to make an accurate judgement but typically, desktops are cheaper and faster (gaming wise) than laptop hardware allows. So if you aren't planning on using it as a portable machine, I would say the desktop, however, if you want to saves some money on a desktop, I'd suggest cyberpowerpc.com or ibuypower.com, they custom build for less than dell, and still have tech support and warranties. I have both laptop and desktop and its really no comparison performance wise, desktop wins hand down.

i would go for the dell dimension desktop one because if i needed it for games it has a longer memory to save your games and your homework.
