i need to have a book idea by friday for my history class and i dont know what to read! it has to be about WWII or the depression or other stuff.. my teacher gave some examples : Black like me, The Jungle, Grapes of Wrath.
Anyone know any other kind of "history" book i could read for my report?? that would be enjoyable by a 14 year old?

Try The Great Gatsby or The Sun Also Rises, by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, respectively. The Jungle is also pretty readable. The Grapes of Wrath is pretty long but an easy read.
The Great Gatsby and The Sun Also Rises take place during the 1920s, The Jungle is about the beginning of the 1900s, and The Grapes of Wrath is about the Dust Bowl during the depression. A WWII or Holocaust book idea would be Night by Elie Wiesel. While not...enjoyable per se, it's factual.

Then choose the one you think you would have the most in common with.
...and read it with the attitude that you are making a new friend.
