I do not understand how to do this. Can somone help me?
Write an equivalent logarithmic expression for 6^x = 12?
and
Write an equivalent logarithmic expression for x^7 = 15

and I am also having trouble with the problem The hydrogen ion concentration of a dilute solution of an acid is measured to be [H+] = 2.0x10-4. Determine the pH of the solution.
formula is [pH] = -log(H+).

I am not just somebody looking for the easy way out, I have tried these problems many times and I am stuck and in need of help. PLease help me.

6^x = 12 -> x = log_6(12) (log to the base 6)

x^7 = 15 -> 7 = log_x(15) (log to the base x)

[H+] = 2.0x10-4

log[H+] = log(2.0x10-4) = log(2.0) + log(10-4)

log[H+] = 0.3 + (-4) = -3.7

Hence pH = -log[H+] = 3.7
