Being a cynic, I will go with a cynical approach.

Annie Hall

"A relationship, I think, is like a shark. You know? It has to constantly move forward or it dies. And I think what we got on our hands is a dead shark. "

My two favorite quotes about love

In "A Walk To Remember" They quote from the BIble, 1 Corinthians chapter 13. AWESOME definition of love.

"Love is patient, love is kind. Love is never jealous, showy, or proud. Love does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily angered. DOes not love sin, but rejoices in truth. IT bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails'

In Sense and Sensibility, Marriane quotes a poem from Shakespeare, which I have always felt gives a good definiton of love.

"Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments. Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove. Oh no, it is an ever fixed mark, which looks on tempests and is never shaken. It is the star to every wandring bark, who';s worth unknown, although his height be taken. Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks, within its bending syckle's compass comes. Love altereth not in his brief day's or weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom. IF this be error, and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved."

Basically saying that true love does not dependent on receiving love in return. It's talking about unconditional love. That can weather any strorm.

Love Story - "Love is never having to say you're sorry!"

(absolutely nonsense, in my opinion, but everyone went around quoting it in the 70's.)

I don't know if I'll get the wording right but here's mine:

"Why is it you dont recognize the exact moment when love starts, but you can always realize it when it ends?"

Moonstruck: "Loretta, I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, but love don't make things nice - it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren't here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and *die*. The storybooks are *bullshit*. Now I want you to come upstairs with me and *get* in my bed!"
