Probably Hall of Fame. If he could have kept his temper more in control he would have been even better, though.

There is no way eddie belfour is one of the best in his ERA let alone all-time. There have been so many other goalies much much better then Eddie Belfour during his career I am not going to even waste my time listing all the goalies that are better hten he is in the past here are just a few names of goalies IN HIS ERA that are better then him. Martin Brodeur, Domink Hasek, Patrick Roy are jsut a few names of goalies that have better careers and are better then he is. I will not argue with you that he is going to the hall of fame....but really lets think reasonably....one of the best all-time? NOT A CHANCE!!

Um didn't Belfour give up 2 goals to Jim fracking Dowd the other night, I'm a Devs fan and all, and if my wife caught me goofing on Jersey Jim (she went to school with him and she'd kill me) but Dowd hadn't scored in like 55 games at that point. Actually Belfour was good but he doesn't have the resume of Brodeur or (ugh) Roy

He definitely is one of the greatest goalies of all time. Look at the numbers. He has 481 career wins, a 2.50 GAA, a .906 SV%, and 76 shutouts. He had the unfortunate luck of playing in the time of Roy and Brodeur. No knock against the Eagle, but those two are still better than he is. Also, the Blackhawks only made one Stanley Cup final. He didn't get a chance to play for enough championships, and he didn't always have the best team in front of him. I'm just glad he got a championship in Dallas. He already has his ticket punched for the Hall of Fame. And I agree the biggest weakness he had was his temper. He had such a great fundamental butterfly style. Had he kept his temper in check, he would also be one of the classiest players in the NHL.

Eddie Belfour is without a doubt one of the best of this generation of goalies. In terms of best ever, I think he's still behind Sawchuck, Roy, Fuhr and Brodeur, though. Rest assured that Eddie the Eagle definitely has a place in the Hall of Fame waiting for him, though.

nooooooo definatly not if he is the greatest ever you have a very loose term of best ever. I mean look at the goalies now that are better than him: Co-Jo, Domnic Hasek who now in his 40's is still better that Belfour ever was, Roberto Luongo, J.S. Gigure, Vesa Tokelsla, and even the injured Manny Fernandez. Not to mention the retirees like Patrick Roy or Terry Sawchuk. So no he is definatly not one of the best goalies ever. He could have been but he was a drunk.

well, Andy V has got it correct. hey lobot, how many cups did Eddie get you? what's that? oh yeah, ZERO. i guess it pays to let your future superstars develop rather than just bank on a players reputation. eddie was a great goaltender. not top 5 of all time. MAYBE top 10. although he was overshadowed by a way-too-mouthy Roy. if you had traded the two, Belfour would've done more than Roy, had he been surrounded by the stars. no pun intended. (a la w/ the Dallas Stars). But he did have this crazy twitch of his goalie stick mysteriously coming up between opposing forwards legs who WEREN'T in the crease and slashing their balls. But hey!, it was a muscle spasm. he shouldn't be held accountable for it. he's the eagle. don't call it. give him a break.

He's had a good Career in my opinion. One of the greatest ever? How many do you rate to that? He is no top 5. Not sure I would put him top 10 all time. See my hockey knowledge doesn't really go back enough to put anyone on all time. I wouldn't complain if I had him though, well I would if it was a fantasy team or something but that is because he isn't getting enough help in Florida.

I think that Belfour would be alot better if he wasn't on Florida, but I dont think that he'd be as good as he was at the beginning of his career because he's older now.

Eddie the Eagle!! One of the best the Hawks ever had. He was awsome with the Hawks.

Hey Andrew, I'd take Eddie any day over Hasek. Hasek wasn't that great when he was with the Hawks. I know I remember, I watched the games.
