Our backyard slopes. We do not have the resources to rent a backhoe and level out the yard for the swing set. I need to know if it's possible to install a metal swing set such that the yard is not a factor (perhaps burying the legs on one side). All suggestions are appreciated.

Like the first poster said... you should bury the legs to a reasonable depth or even set them in concrete. Burying the legs at variable depths will allow you to level the cross bar. Use the swings them selves as a plumb line to tell you whether the set needs to go forward or backward and a bubble level (on the crossbeam) to tell you which way to adjust its yaw. This is gonna take at least a couple of people, so come prepared.

The first thing to do is call your bank to see if your check has cleared yet. If it hasn't cleared put a stop payment on it. Yes, most banks will charge a fee for this but you only lose the fee instead of the full amount of the check. Second, talk to an attorney (especially if your check has cleared already) about filing a claim against him for breach of contract. In most places a verbal contract is binding if you can prove an agreement was reached; your check is proof of that. Third, contact a reputable company to hire for the work or consider doing it yourself. Ask around; someone in your area knows a good company for this. There are a couple of websites with reviews of local companies; check them for which have the best customer satisfaction ratings. If all else fails check with Angie; that girl knows about everybody! Just search for Angie's List. Good luck and enjoy!

Burying the legs will work, especially if you set them in cement. Just remember to dig the upside holes a little deeper than the downside ones. Make sure that the swing set is level, and then put the kids on and watch them play.

A metal swing will start rusting unless it is aluminum, and burying the legs will increase the rust. the people who know the best are the specific manufacturers of the swing set, call the # on the instructions and they'll give you the ideal method of installation

You can do that only if you shorten the swing on that side to make it at correct height with the ground. And, if you put it facing the slope, when the kids swing back they will hit the slope up, and it will be very "deep" in the front of them.
