I'm sorry that you guys chose to come to San Diego, because San Diego is boring and expensive. You should think about going to San Francisco instead, way funner city and a lot more to do. just an opinion from someone who has lived in San Diego for 15 years and can't wait to get out!

Look south and east for "cheap" housing in San Diego. Places like Shelltown and Barrio Logan are okay. So are City Heights apartments. But those aren't in the kind of areas you'd probably want to live.

wow 5 bedrooms, usually you guys try to cram that many people into a 2 bedroom in Pacific Beach. I think last summer I went to a party at a 3 bedroom house with 14 Irish people living in it. Anyways, anything in Pacific Beach will be expensive and it's hard to find 5 bedroom rentals. But look in the Clairemont neighborhood just east of PB, lot's of homes and cheaper yet still only about 3-5 miles from PB. Craiglist is a good site to look for rentals: sandiego.craigslist.org/
And it seems most Irish students that come to SD in summer work at SeaWorld, so you should check them out.

Check out the University areas (Univ of San Diego, Univ of Calif at San Diego, San Diego State, etc) they usually have some good deals. Also local papers and near the Mexican border. Good luck. It is a great area.

LMFAO!!!! THAT'S FUNNY AS HELL I DON'T THINK YOU'LL FIND ANYTHING TOO CHEAP. YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND A JOB OUT HERE THOUGH... THAT WON'T BE TOO HARD. AS FAR AS HOUSING TRY APARTMENTS.COM OR LOOK AT THE CLASSIFIED ADDS FROM NEWS PAPERS ONLINE SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE AND NC TIMES THOSE ARE THE ONLY ONES I READ. NORTH COUNTY SAN DIEGO IS PRETTY CHEAP SO I SUGGEST STARTING THERE. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN. BY THE WAY THERE IS PLENTY OF THINGS TO DO IF YOU'RE 21 AND UP

check craigslist.org sdreader.com and signonsandiego.com
You probably want to live in pacific beach, mission beach, or point loma, so you can ride the bus or bike to all the action. I've seen many irish work at the tourist shops in belmont park, and at seaforth boat rental. they pay very poorly, so you are better off working at home and just staying frugal in Diego.
The brazilians here live like ten people to a 1 bedroom, so I think you can figure it out. You speak inglish right? ;)

san diego is expensive. if it wasn't for the weather no one would come here. bars suck especially the ones in pb unless you like fist fights and standing in barf. it technically is like being in tijuana but the whores are free and the beer is twice as expensive. bars close at 2 most restaurant close at 9-10. not much of a night life compared to real citys. being that aren't many Americanized Irish you will get hired at any pub. oh ya no public transport. your going to need a car if you live in north county cause the city is really spread out.

ok, right this is my short checklist: Phil's BBQ - the suitable, continually a line! to no longer costly Corvette Diner - 50's form, attractive, sturdy burgers, unfastened leisure, be arranged to have issues tossed at you (straws, bubblegum, etc) Hodad's - surfer vibe, great nutrition and expenditures Sipz - vegetarian, ok expenses, imaginitive nutrition - NO meat St. Tropez - great for breakfast & lunch, suitable pastries Rei Do Gado - costly, all you are able to eat, lots & lots of meat, yet very sturdy no longer on the checklist Nicky Rotten's (won suitable SD bar), great burgers Dick's final motel - great beverages, thrilling surroundings, sturdy for procuring slightly wild (a minimum of on the weekends)
