Actually, this seems like a loaded non-question.

American imperialism is not an exact copy of Ottoman imperialism, except insofar as all imperialism looks very similar.

Imperialism, to be imperialism, must follow a pattern. That pattern is one you will see repeated in in the formation of any Empire, whether it be Roman, Ottoman, British, or American.

As u have defined it, it's exactly that. As long as it's imperialism it has to have similar characteristics, by definition isn't it. Maybe you wanted to say Ottoman happened years ago, but American is current, how can the two be similar?? Basic human mentality has not changed. When we attack other nations in anticipation of them getting stronger than us, it is exactly the same as used to happen centuries ago. The human mind has not changed fundamentally, it is only the sophistry that changes over time.
