tori amos - horses.it's from the Album: Boys For Pele.
(...I got me some Horses
to ride on
to ride on
they say that your demons
cant go there....)
the word "horses" is used metaphorically.it's used in order to describe the place you go to when you need to feel safe and there nothing and noone can hurt you, your "harbor".although when you first listen to the song you feel like some lyrics either don't fit or don't make sense, the second time you hear it ,if you pay attention to the lyrics and get this certain feeling and chill of this song you'll see what i mean.it's one of the most meaningful songs i've ever heard and i've heard thousands of songs...

Time...by the Alan Parsons Project. But I also like a few from Bob Dylan. One is an oldie; Don't Think Twice it's Alright, and the other is Things Have Changed.

Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden. It was my wedding song (the one that we danced to as husband and wife). Even though we are divorced now I will never get tired of hearing that song and the meaning behind it. That is the way that love should be.
Verse 1

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do..
I will be strong I will be faithful
'Cos I'm counting on a new beginning.
A reason for living.
A deeper meaning.
Chorus

I want to stand with you on a mountain.
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me...
Verse 2

And when the stars are shining brightly
In the velvet sky,
I'll make a wish
Send it to heaven
Then make you want to cry..
The tears of joy
For all the pleasure and the certainty.
That we're surrounded
By the comfort and protection of..
The highest power.
In lonely hours.
The tears devour you..
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever,
Until the sky falls down on me...
Bridge

Oh can't you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
'Cos it's standing right before you.
All that you need will surely come...

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do...
Chorus

That has to be, Homeward Bound, by Simon and Garfunkle
The first time I heard it I was in Boot Camp. That was my first cry at Boot Camp!

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

my daughter was very unexpected as we were told we would never have kids, the lyric which means the most to me is from 'she bangs the drums' by the stone roses- 'how could it ever come to pass, she'll be the first she'll be the last, to describe the way i feel'

Remind Me Dear LORD. This song reminds us that the things we hold dear are just borrowed not ours at all. JESUS only let us use them to brighten our lives so remind me remind me dear LORD. I am a recent widow and this song reminds me that my husband was GODS not mine HE just let me borrow him for a while. Also while our Grandson was in Iraq for 3 years this song carried us through to remind us if he should not come home that he was just borrowed for a time. It also reminds me everyday that everything I have is a gift from GOD not mine at all.
