I have to say yes, because now a day english players are just topping the list of the best players in the planet and when looking at the squad you'd get around 7 or 8 among the best in the world so the reason why they are not winning any trophy is that they don't have the right coach. (a world class coach) no wonder Portugal have forgotten of home coaches but went for a foreigner who's world class.

Thanx!

He is an awful manager but everyone with sense knew that he would be when the schmuck was hired in the first place. The FA gave in to the moron element of the England fans who were clamoring for an Englishman as manager. Also, given the way the press treated Sven, I can't imagine that there are any decent managers of any nationality who would want to manager our national team. In short, we deserve the guy and should be stuck with him until we get knocked out of qualifying.

I don't know we have had a few!! I do remember though that before Italia 90 we were all slagging off Bobby Robson, then we only lost to Germany on pens when we were the best team at the world cup (Gazza was on fire) and everyone changed their minds about Sir Bobby!! Maybe Macca will do the same?! When Joe Cole comes back and Rooney and co pull their weight we should still qualify.

yep sure is he doesn't know what hes doing and by saying that David beckham isn't good enough that's a joke hes one of the best players in the world wither you like him or not, he gives his all everytime he plays for England which is more than i can say for alot of the other players, Steve mclaren just wanted to make a name for himself by keeping David beck ham out the team, one of the most popular footballer in the world.

at the rate things are going, it does look like mclaren is one of the worst... unless he can turn the tides quickly in his favour, the axe is now being sharpened by the fa...

mclaren will be the sacrificial goat -- too bad, the incompetent folks at english football would not to take the blame for the sorry state of the english team...

As someone who lives in Middlesbrough, i could see this coming a mile off.

The boro supporters were jumping for joy when he left the Riverside because we all knew he was useless, there many stories about the players wanting him gone too.

The only problem is he now tortures us again on a whole other level.
His time is definately running out, i think we're looking at weeks now as opposed to months or years.

Yes, he does not get the best from the players, I do not rate him as a good manager, what has he won as a manager?

I dont think you can point all the blame at the manager. After all its the players that are on the field. They are underperforming and there are other players which deserve a chance which would do a better job !
