If you are tall and have slim shoulders then you would want to show off your legs and arms. Try finding a dress that is short to show off your long legs and also a tank to show off your arms. Try Forever21.

Show off yours legs if your tall, waer a nice dress no longer than your knees and some nice strappy high heels.

i think you should go for something that long and you should get something nice like you would were to the prom only if you are going to one but if you are not then go for something that you think would look really nice on you...
