Every country has it,s bad events in history, but the people of this world had to learn and progress, sure slavery was and still is abominable, but it was stopped and all though it was pure hell for the slaves, we have now moved on and in a very indirect way the black peoples have benefited from the horror that their ancestors went through. If we are going to bang a drum about all the injustice to the human race, we can go on banging it untill eternity. Learn and move on that,s the human race. It,s a jungle out there .

What most of you seem to like to forget is that blacks are not the only people to be enslaved in history there have been many people who have been enslaved throughout history depending on the civilization there have been innumerable caucasian slaves did you forget about the slave societies of greece and rome???? I think they got over it you don't see resentment about that lingering as far as I know so this is more recent however don't omit facts because its convenient for your side to whine about past troubles.

You would make a big deal also if your family was torn apart, abused, raped and lynched just for being black! I think for white slave owners to think they could own a black person is absolutley awful! So dont try and make such a big importance in history seem so small. And remeber how much of the county is built by slaves..dont be so ignorant. And of course black people would still be in the west just like other minorities.

by way of the indisputable fact that's a surprising cop out. no matter if equality is the birthright of all persons, they take it a step extra. at the same time as Taylor quick became interrupted by technique of Kanye West who stood up for Beyonce no racist declare became made. If Taylor interrupted Kanye and stated that Kelly Clarkson must have received, there could were a large racism hoopla. that is overdone. also @ ElDuderino, suitable! i assume being gassed and deemed the scum of the earth is a lot extra valuable suitable? both confronted oppression little doubt yet you do not listen Jews lamenting about how their ancestors were murdered do you?

If you dont think the slave trade was a "big deal" then you are inhuman. Now just imagine if it was your great great grandfather who was subjected to it. I think anyone any decency makes a big deal about the slave trade.

What has the fact that they are in the West gotto do with it????

No they probably wouldn't be in the West...
But then again, if racism hadn't existed back then...we would've all been civil to each other. We'd go there to learn about western culture, and you'd come to Africa to learn about african culture. But at least we wouldn't have a clue of what you'd think we're missing out on...If I've never had chocolate before, why would I care? Its not like bringing them to the West was the best thing ever...They fore fathers were happy where they were 'til they were forcedly taken from their home

Migration would have led to those from Africa eventually moving anyway as it's been responsible for other group movements. The slave trade moved them against their will and displaced many for economic gain.

Stupid question! Why do people always have negative things to say when something doesn't happen to them?

Slavery was a big deal! But to explain why, would be a waste to someone who doesn't use their brain in the first place.

Yup, I'd be here considering the fact that my family doesn't trace back to Africa. I honestly only hear the racists talking about the slave trade, so here's an idea. Get a life and stop spreading hate. Alrighty?

Perhaps your racial group should be snatched from families.
Tortured, forced to work for animals that viewed a different colour as less than they were.

There are Blacks all over the world because of the Slavers.
Most of them dont know where their ancestors were kidnapped from.

From your screen name I would say you are Indian. I think that we shall enslave your race for a few hundred years. Treat you as property with NO Human Rights whatsoever.
You obviously think that slavery was a good thing for the African peoples.
Even at its worst, The Empire NEVER treated it's Indian subjects like the Black Slaves.
You have no frame of reference to empathise at all.

I will never apologise for the actions of my ancestors, they did what was or seemed right AT THE TIME!
This does not mean that I am not disgusted at the treatment of Blacks during the Slave years.

Black people as a whole, have every right to make a big deal about the fact that their people were treated worse than dogs.
