Do you remember ?
Sleeper cells... secret terror networks... bearded men in caves...

Surely in order to drum up public support for the occupation of Iran, the media ought to have kept the whole al-Qaeda illusion alive? Or was it all getting a bit far fetched?

I wonder what'll be next.... ?

VanWilder71,
I was talking about al-qaeda, the political tool. Your talking about the resistance or insurgence in the countries we are illegally occupying. 2 separate things

Tequila,
I agree. It's important to understand why they are doing it as well, it's quite complex.

Erm, how about the concept that there is no such thing as Al-Qaeda? The US and UK goverments need a ficticious enemy to justify their warmongering expansionist desires. Its all smoke and mirrors.

definite. yet no longer from an exterior source, Al-Queda is a free connection of criminal communities operating for a common purpose, with connections and help from valid sources i.e charities, political and non secular figures etc. Similiar in some concepts to the IRA, there have been large purges interior the IRA, killing figureheads never worked, the purely ingredient that worked became a valuable non violent determination to the underlying themes that the IRA fought for. Similiarly, Al-Queda has lost arguably (who has considered the actual bin weighted down in years?) all of that is figureheads and this has purely served to obscure the chance it grants, the call and purpose of Al-queda is only taken up by technique of extra, a lot less scrutinized or properly usual those who perpetuate that is existance and others will at the same time as they're killed. at the same time as the elements is now no longer conducive to Al-queda, that call too will die.

They are still around, not in the media limelight as much as the Taliban.
The fact that most of the worlds population don't understand is that both al-Queda and Taliban will fight for the next 20 generations if that is what it takes to win their fight.

They don't have humanitarian genes like we do, they will kill women, children and all else to get their point across.
I have been to both Iraq, and Afghanistan and I can say that first hand the media only reports about 2% of what goes on over here.

They are still there with the taleban. They are biding their time. The actions in Afghanistan may have slowed them down a bit but they will be back. They have support and sympathisers throughout the Muslim world but they will let us know in due course that they are still about.
