Slavery is history. It's over and done with. There is nothing we can do about it now. I was not living in those times. I had nothing to do with it. I don't feel I owe anyone anything. Blacks were not the only race of people that were treated badly. Jewish people, Chinese, What about the American Indian??? Let it go.

Ya know what I find quite interesting? So many racists on here complain about blacks and how much we all complain about wanting reparations, yet I'm black and I do pay attention to the media and I have yet to hear anyone talking about it. So personally, I think the racists on here just like causing random problems for no real reason.
To mechelle, Native Americans have received reparations, as have other groups. If blacks are actually complaining about reparations as much as people keep saying they are, that would be a reason why. In my opinion, it's unfair to apologize and give something to one group but not another. Personally, I don't want reparations and I really dont care about this silly arguement. My family wasn't even here during those times so whatever.

I understand the point your making, but think it could be made a better way as slavery was not the issue in India:
Should Africans have to pay Black-Americans and Black-Caribbean people reparations for selling other Africans into slavery to the Europeans?

you sound like American oops you bumped into me want mega bucks ....get real fed up with this apology thingy your living aren't you maybe your mum should apologise for having you ...it was in the past matey let it go we have got better and we did eventually abolish slavery we Brits and gave India its freedom and lots of benefits and still doing so ....so get rid of chip on shoulder .....and contribute to the world no more woo is me please

what about the highland clearance? Should Scotland demand an apology? Come to think of it, what about the sacking of Rome, the rape of Belgium etc.
