Why does people do anything? Because they feel it is the right thing to do.

Because imagination has no limits, and the only limitations are the ones you set yourself.

It's a whimsical fancy, but some people always have the feeling that there is something more, and perhaps there is, this force of imagination and mystery that thrills us all. It's more exciting to believe than to settle on the ordinary, mundane parts of life.

Everything could be a mythical creature. We've just become so conditioned that everything is ordinary.

Mythical is not always the same as "non-existent". Similarly, just because something no longer exists does not mean it is mythical. For instance, you know that your great-great.... grandparents lived somewhere, 100,000 years ago. You have no proof they existed but they did exist, or you would not be here. Certain things seem incredible to us only because they are beyond our experience. 100,000 years from now, someone may well say that it was just a myth that people went to the moon because they may no longer have the capability to do that.

We all have in us, somewhere deep inside, a quest to seek answer to things around us as the things of this world grasp us by their wonders very often. Often fantastic imaginations occupy our minds when we become bored of our routing life and a very predictable environment . We make stories to entertain others specially our children and that leads to creation of these mythical creatures.

its nice to escape from reality sometimes, its nice to have a certain mysteriousness about life. Its nice to not know somethings. It leaves everything open to change, the unknown. Did i answer ur question? Probably not. I just gave the reason why i believe in Unicorns. They may not exist now, but i'm sure they did!

Why do people believe in people with wings, men who can walk around after they were killed, spirits that have sex with you while you sleep, snakes that can talk, horned creatures with bat wings that torture people, that people were made out of dirt and from someone's rib.

I think we're dealing with a lot of inconsistencies.

Because reality is too ugly and mundane for them.
By believing in mythical creatures they fool themselve into thinking that there is another world where things are better than the one they are stuck in.

The wonders of the universe are too difficult for them to understand. So they search for the supernatural to explain things.Sad, I think.
