I mean, the Cubs are the obvious answer, and while I don't believe that they will be as good as everyone is predicting, they will still be in the race in early September for sure. I like the Indians. they vastly underacheived last year, and they added some players (Trot Nixon, Borowski) and didn't lose anyone significant, and so they will win the Central this year.

I don't think it will be the Cubs because of their pitching. They have Carlos Zambrano, Rich Hill and for right now a healthy Mark Prior. That is it for pitching, Marquis and Lilly suck. That would be a real concerned for them this season. I think the Brewers will be the most improved team this season. They have lots of good young guys in the lineup and great pitching. This might finally be the year the Brewers finally make the playoffs.

I really like what I see out in LA. I am not a National league or Dodgers fan, but I have to say, The Dodgers look like they are primed for a nice run. They have a good Starting rotation with Schmidt, Lowe, Penny, Wolf, and Tomko ; their pen is not too shabby either with Broxton (76IP, 97 k, 2.59 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) and Saito(78IP, 107 K, 2.07 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) being "Lights Out", this will shorten games to 7 innings; Defensively they look solid also, which leaves their one weakness I can see as being run production. But even if they can avg 3 - 3 1/2 runs per game, I think their strengths will be enough to win 90+ games this season.
BTW to the Seminole Guy who answered before me...Juan Pierre is no longer with the Cubs, he plays for the Dodgers. A little research goes a long way.
As to the person who said Lilly sucks, I think you will be surprised this season, he is primed for a breakout year.

Cubs shelled out some serious cash, but money won't buy you happiness. Just ask the Yankees. They will improve this season with their additions to the offense. Pitching still lacks, well everything. Zambrano can't carry them forever, and he seems to be the only one on the team that gets mad about losing. The Brewers are looking pretty deep this year. They're my pick.

What was shocking about last year? The Cubs almost always are under .500!
1) Milwaukee Brewers
2) Philadelphia Phillies
3) Texas Rangers

Methinks the Cubs won even get near a playoff spot. I think the Phillies are unfortunately the most improved team.

If your asking which team will improve on the number of wins the most this year then probably the Cubs. If you are asking which team actually improved their rosters the most. I'm thinking the Dodgers. The addition of a genuine ace in Schmidt dramatically improves their team.

The Dodgers and Cubs. The Dodgers should now win their division with ease and the Cubs can't possibly do worse than last year with the upgrading they have done in the off-season.

If your talking about reg season wins I'm gonna say the St.Louis Cardinals, this team is gonna score alot of runs and has a great defense to go with all those runs .So I see them improving at least 10 games from last year to 93 victories. And another Central Crown to go with those victories. After the playoffs start anything can happen,as was proved last year.

Maybe the Cubs, but their pitching is still a shambles. I would take a good look at the Pirates, they made some moves in the off-season. You never know about the Rockies.
