How did the film resolve as I went to bed but was intrigued to know what happened.
Was it Alien invasion of the astronauts bodies as I suspected?

Spencer (Depp) was confronted by Gillian (Theron). She succeeds at getting the lif form out of him by electrocuting him, but the life form takes over her instead. the kids grow up with the life form as their mother.

Was Johnny Depp in it? If yes, then his body was taken over by some alien life form and he turned evil.
I think, if it's the same film I'm thinking of.

johnny depp and his friend were fixing something outer space when aliens entered their bodies on an intention of reproducing through them(charlize theron gets pregnant,she has twins, and the twins are both aliens) johnny depp's friend and his wife both electrocuted themselves for that reason.
then charlize theron found that out and she tried to electocute johnny depp, but then the alien got out of him and into herself. you then see charlize theron many years later, looking evil and married to another guy with 2 little kids. she said she wanted them to be astronaunts like their father.
