Im 39 weeks and 1 day pregnant, i saw my doc yesterday around the aftrenoon and i was 1 cm dilated and 50%effaced, she also stripped my membranes and ive been cramping pretty bad since, after taking a nap i used the bathroom and found some mucus plug in the toilet as well as on my toilet paper, it was gooey and brown! still some coming out today! How long til labor? im still cramping and having contractions!could i be dilating more? help please :-)

i would say soon...if you aren't in labor while i am writing this! congrats! i have had one child...but i didn't go through the exact thing, because i was induced....at the time labor was induced, i was dilated 1cm, and they said that i would have went into labor soom, and i didnt even have any of the other symptoms that you are having, so i would have to say really soon :)

Hi there. I was stripped at 39,40 and 41 weeks. 41 weeks was yesterday and still nothing happening. But the mucus you are experincing may just be from the exam. I had lost my mucus plug weeks ago. But I still am getting alot of mucus due to the exam The brown is old blood that is caused when the doctor stripes your membrains. I have had it done 3 times and each time i also have brown mucus. So you could still be days away from labour. I am being induced tomarrow and can't wait.

Technically you are in one of the stages of labor. There really is no way of telling how long because everyones body responds differently.I went from 5 to 8 cm in 10 minutes with my first. With my last one I was dialated 2cm for weeks. A girl at my workplace was dialated 5 for days and was still working.So you just have to wait and see. Good luck!

Wish i could tell you real soon, but everyone is different and there is no way of knowing. i went ot dr at 34 weeks and was dialted to 3 and lost most of my plug. have been having contractions (regularly) everyday since 28 weeks, and now over two weeks later no baby. but remember either way you are 39 weeks so it will be close

You can deliver anywhere from 37-42 weeks.
If the pain starts to get worse then go to the hospital.

you may go late, you might go early. or like me, your water might break and you could 1 day before your actual due date. i was 80% effaced and 2 cm dialated and I stayed that way from week 36 to week 40. it depends.
