slow down and please relax, with my 3rd baby my second son i was 32 weeks and my tum measured in at a 45, you could have a big baby or lots of water or both i had a very big baby they did a in depth measuring scan and it showed my baby at 33 weeks to be almost 7 pound in weight so they took me in for a C/section at 34 weeks and my son weighed in at a bumper 8lb4oz but to look at him now you wouldn't think it now he's 13 years old, but he was tested for diabetes at birth and he did need to be fed by a tube for the first 2 hours to get his sugar levels up to what they call normal but he is fine now apart from his autism and no that has nothing to do with size he was at birth.

You know what i wouldnt worry. Midwives (some)are next to useless! With my first daughter (she 3 now) at 25 weeks she was 28cm, then when i went for a 29week check baby was 29cm then a 32 week check and baby was 26cm. I was reffered to the hospital and the midwife there told me the baby couldnt possibly shrink and that most of the measurements done were actually wrong and because of this i nearly lost my daughter. My little girl stopped growing at 29 weeks but somehoe the measurements were all over the place as midwives kept oversizing me when the baby actually wasnt that big. A scan at 36 weeks the midwife said the baby should have never been left that long not growing and i was induced right away and the cord literally came away from her as she was being born. She was healthy but i was told if she had been left any longer she would have died. I know your story is slightly different but the point is the same, dont trust measurements unless they are done by ultrasound where it is accurate and not an estimate. Good luck but im sure it will be fine and you will find the baby isnt as big as predicted but the scan will reveal all.

It is very possible that your baby is big. Or that you have a large amount of amniotic fluid. I can't say much about the accuracy of a midwife because in the US we don't use them much. I would recommend having an ultrasound done where they measure the head, belly and thigh bone to determine the stage of pregnancy. This method is much more accuarte. Your midwife could also be mismeasuring the top of the uterus or the top of the pubic bone. Although when I was 35 weeks the dr was concerned because I was only measuring 32 but then 6 days later I was up to 37.5. The measurement to can vary slightly with the position of the baby. If you are worried I would seek the opinion of a ob/gyn just to make yourself feel better. Congrats and good luck!

Don't worry about it. I had the same - I always measured a lot bigger than the weeks I was pregnant. My midwife told me it was because of the way the baby was lying, and there was a lot of water surrounding the baby as well.

Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy.

There's nothing wrong with that, my mom was the same way when she was pregnant with me, i'm small yes but i'm still very healthy. I'm not sure if this is your first or if you have other children, but if it's your first, many times the first one is a little smaller than the younger ones. This may also be true for other babies as well. There's nothing to worry about.

Hi There, I am sure there is nothing to worry about as your doctor would have been concerned, it might just be that the baby is slightly bigger or that you are carrying allot more fluid. Try not to worry yourself as it wont help at all try to relax and if you have any more concerns at all make sure you see your doctor, maybe you could even ask for a scan if that might help you from not worrying yourself. Best of luck and enjoy your baby!

I dont think there is anything to worry about. if it is diabetes, dont worry either! it is common for pregnant mums to get diabetes while pregnant, then it leaves after the baby is born! i agree though, your baby may just be getting bigger than others at that age! nothing to worry about :) happy birthing!
