No. You weren't there and they got tired of sitting in the old broke down desk. Nothing big.

Do they belong to the school or did you buy the?. This is important because I was in that situation when I was young. Some school allowed pupils to engrave their names on the table and chairs but I am not sure if this might create other problems. Hm. Bring this up in the school councillors's meeting and say that perhaps the old tables and chairs need renewing or mending in the whole class if not the whole school.

This is the kind of thing that kids do. Don't take it so personally. If you had a puppy and you left a shoe lying around would you be surprised if he chewed it?
Try to see it as children being children. They won't give the incident a second thought. Its really no big deal unless you turn it into one.

As long as you still have a table and chair does it matter whether they are new or old? Try to worry less, you'll be happier.

just think that it really does not matter whether it old or new just as long as its comfortable and usable.

I would say not if you are the adult in the class.
