Im guessing because the images are the creation of your imagination, what you would see would depend on if you've lost your sight or never had sight... or would they stem from descriptions of things? Ahhh! I have no idea!!! Help!

Anybody who wants to offer a more detailed answer than "yes of course it does its your brain not your sight" feel free

I found it interesting when I discovered that hallucinations, when caused by some substance such as LSD or MDMA, are actually considered pseudohallucinations. It was a hard concept for me to grasp considering hallucinations are never 'real,' but the difference is the fact that the drugs act as a catalyst for the hallucinations' occurrence instead of them happening 'naturally' in the brain.

Hallucinations can occur with any of the five senses - sight, hearing, touch, taste, or smell. Obviously, a person who cannot see can be effected by hallucinations that are not visual. However, I suspect that a blind person can still have visual hallucinations. The chemicals effect the interpretation of visual data, and that includes distorting what is already present (for those who can see) and introducing images which are not present. The latter would have more impact for a person who is visually impaired.

I think you're right to think that visual hallucinations would depend on if a person has had sight for awhile or never had it. Also, the descriptions of things and what they've touched with their hands play into imagination. Imagination and hallucinations are both products of the mind.

Just guessing here. And assuming the following; you are referring to visual hallucinations

It would depend on if the person had vision during their life time. If th person previously had vision then yes It would be possible to have visual hallucinations.

If there had been no vision in the persons life. I don't think that the brain would know how to interpret visual stimulation. take the next idea in to mind

A color blind person takes the same drug you referred to does he see color because of a drug?

If that's true then some where someone would be working on a pill to cure color blindness

Yes, you dont have to see to have a "trippy" experience. You can have dreams, you have auditory sensations, you can have sensations of the skin, taste, etc. As someone else said, it is your brain -- not your eyes -- that is affected.
