Most women only get 2. One to figure out the due date, and the next to check progress later on.
Im high risk so they do alot of them on me. Most of the time more then once a month.

most women get 1 or 2 ultrasounds if they are having a complication free pregnancy.
For the ones who only get 1 ultrasound, it is typically done at between 18 and 22 weeks
If you have two, one of them will probably be done very early in the pregnancy and the other will be between 18 and 22 weeks.
If you want to pay out of pocket, you can get 3 or 4D ultrasounds as well.

I think for a normal pregnancy a woman gets three ultrasounds.
One when she is around 1o weeks pregnant and this also can determine if the dates were off.
The Second around the 4th and 5th month to determine the sex of the baby!!! yeah, exciting!!!
And the final one when she come in to deliver the will do an ultrasound to make sure the baby isn't breech and everything looks normal!!

Actually it depends on your pregnancy condition. the ideal is 2-3 times. the first is during your first trimester, this is to check if youre really pregnant and to check the babies heart beat. The second is on your 6-7 months to know the babies gender (this is optional) the last is during your 3rd trimester. This ultrasound is called BPS or Bio Physical Screening. This is done to evaluate your babies heartbeat, fetal movement etc. also it aims to determine your amniotic fluid and the final fetal presentation.

In normal preg its b/w 2-3.
As every preg is diff. so it all depends upon the development & growth of ur baby your doc. will tell u after how much time u need 2 go fr an ultrasound.
As far as there is any problem in the development of the baby or if there is any bleeding etc etc doc.will not suggest u for US as the rays r not good fr the baby.
1 US is done in the first trimester normally 8-12 weeks 2 check baby's Heartbeat.then,
1 US is done in the last trimester 2 check the baby's position & if required 1 in second trimester 2 check baby's development.

i dont know what the "normal" number to get one...but soo far i have gotten.. like 5..my first was to determine dates..second was for a regular one at 18 weeks..and the others was just to check out the baby to make sure he was ok..b/c i have been having complications...and the last one i had was to check the weight and size of baby..and fluid

it depends where you live i got one at 12weeks as a dating scan to measure baby and check my dates where right and another at 20 weeks this was an anomaly scan to check baby was healthy and everything OK.
