I think a boss should greet the employee and ask meaningful how they are. But on a less daily basis I think the boss should convey how well the employee is doing and give pointers on how to do better. I think that unless it is the end of the world in the company any mistakes should be treated as such and that the person making them should be encouraged to do a better job. The boss should help if possible and share experiences with the employees as a possible way for motivation.

I would like to hear him say "well done" once in a while but he doesn't.
I get motivated by thinking that I will get paid at the end of the month.
