Why do animals like women more than men?

Ehh... Well, that's not always necessarily true. I have a snowshoe siamese mix, 14 years old, that prefers women because she lived with me, my sister, and my mom in a man-free house for most of her life. Now I've had to move in with my dad and she's not a big fan of him or my step brother. It probably helps if you have had the animal since it was very young and has had good experiences with men, and both genders in particular, though some animals do have a specific person they bond to. And I imagine it is possible for an animal to have one bad experience with men and be cautious of them for the rest of their lives. Besides all of this, women generally are sweeter to the animals and have more soft, gentle voices, which appeal to animals.

They don't always! Some dogs prefer men, its partly due to early socialisation and partly due to the fact that men give off more 'I am dominant' signals - they have a deeper voice and in the canine world that means they are fit and have big lungs. They tend to be taller and have more body mass.
Pups that are bred and raised by women, or are nervous or submissive, tend to be more demonstrative with women because they find them less threatening. The man of the house may be held in awe by the dog, and its difficult to approach and play with someione you are in awe of.

If you want to get on better with animals, avoid staring at them. Try to speak slowly, quietly, and even raise the pitch of you voice a little. Make your movements slower and predictable. They'll soon get used to you. You'll know when oyu're mates because you can play together.
A cat that sits on your lap thinks of you as a hot water bottle, it doesn't mean he's your mate...

I think it is the whole attitude thing and what kind of vibes a person puts out, but I have from experience noticed that animals perfer me other than my husband or brother. I can always catch a horse easier than they can and just yesterday My Aunts horse had a little filly and i was holding onto it petting it and the mare was licking me then my brother came up to pet it and the mare put her ears back at him. Most Women just have the nuturing thing down packed. I know I do, my heart goes out to alot of things, mostly animals and kids that are neglected.

Because my dear, some women (and some men but not often) give off nice vibes towards animals. Men don't.
Think of the last time you saw an animal that you didn't particularly like. That animal would have picked up on your dislike vibe and as such would not come near you.

i know cats like men more than women so do hamsters and reptiles. but the stupidest animal on gods green earth (the dog) is a full on womans pet. women are equal to men but there is something about that filthy animal that makes women think its an alternative to having friends or children or a good shag. i'd sooner have a starfish on a leash, its just as pointless.

The majority of women have a caring nature and know what they're doing. When I see my kittens or my cats, I instinctively speak in a "cutesy" voice to them and they always come closer, as opposed to my brother chasing them and wanting to roughhouse with them. We also have mothering tendencies and always want what's best for them

It all boils down to evolution, animals have developed herd instincts and the males generally are to be feared. They are there to service females. Females are there to look after the species, therefore it is instinctive to go to females.
