Be somewhat surprised, though also amused. He's sweet, but face it, the guy can't sing a note.
The fact that it will annoy the hell out of Simon Cowell and many Idol fans will be very entertaining, though. And surely entertainment is the point of the show. ;)

It would prove a point how demented society is. I would take it as evidence.
I think people are voting for him to make a mockery of the show!
Sanjaya Malakar, 17, is from Federal Way, WA. He auditioned in Seattle with his sister, who was eliminated at the Hollywood stage of the competition. Sanjaya says he started singing as a little boy and had formal singing training.
Sanjaya, who spent four years performing with the Hawaii Children Theater, claims he is a shy person and says "I'm scared that I'll never be able to walk into a supermarket without someone recognizing me." His music idol is Stevie Wonder.

i would be utterly disgusted. BUT will i boycott the show? no. although i will enjoy watching him flop after the whole thing is over...he MAY have a guarenteed recording contract but he won't be successful....william houng (sp) will have a better career than he! LOL he has a good voice....so he doesn;t have that going for him. he just needs to go on broadway or something like that.....okay, i am musically trained and sanjaya CAN sing....but he is just not idol material. i know TONS of people that sing well that don't belong on that show either.

I think it would be hilarious. It would be like America playing a funny joke on Simon. He would probably be devestated and I would love to see the look on his face. I bet he would quit the show if Sanjaya won.

oh my god, he better not. I mean he probably will because all the little 11-13 year old girls will be calling for him. He doesn't even look like a guy, I mean cut your hair and start dressing better. I don't really watch American Idol. I've watched in the past this season I didn't really connect with anyone. Last one I loved Taylor from the beginning but this time they're wasn't anyone

Ugh, my hubby and I are all ready about to quit watching that show because he's still in it. Better singers have gone home, while he's stayed. Why is America voting for him? He is not very good or attractive. Get rid of him!

HE is just SOOO HOTT!! especially with his straightened hair.
