The kind of attitude you describe is most often caused by ignorance or stupidity, or acquired racial prejudice and the conviction that because the existing local cultures were different, when foreign lands were discovered, they were inferior to the white man's.
No kind of racial, colour or national prejudice is right!
I have taught Indians and found them extremely sharp minded, and my very best student ever is an Indian girl who speaks five very different languages beautifully and is now teaching in China. My Indian students have been without exception absolutely delightful and I very much enjoyed my contacts with these lovely girls who were so eager, willing to learn, and good achievers in their different fields.
If it is any consolation, there is a great deal of prejudice amongst white people living in different countries too. I was born abroad, though a British citizen. I find that Americans in particular look upon me with disdain and even on Yahoo answers, when I mention I was born in France and educated there in my childhood, I get thumbs down for my answers from American and English people, and some deliberately choose the wrong answer in preference to my correct one because they consider me an alien.
Sadly colour or national prejudice is rife everywhere and the best policy is just to ignore those who put you down and continue to strive to reach your objectives regardless.
This being said not ALL Americans or British people are prejudiced and both nations as a whole have become much more open to other races and nationalities in recent years.
When I was younger, people in the next county were viewed with suspicion, let alone those who had origins further afield.

Your good judgment seems very defective, and you'll have examine distinctive historians than I relatively have. you're making fake generalizations no longer purely approximately historians, yet additionally approximately slaves and approximately community human beings. some slaves fought with the British by using fact the Brits lied and promised them their freedom. Many slaves fought for the human beings. working to Canada grow to be no longer a clever determination for many slaves. you're making it sound as though vacationing one thousand miles by way of opposed territory is reminiscent of walking a mile to the British camp. community human beings additionally fought on the two factors. there isn't any justification for treating community human beings badly by using fact some fought for the British, and there isn't any reason to think of they might have fared any better if that they had all fought for the human beings. Whites needed their land. Your re-writing of historic past fails. Edit: working to Canada grow to be working to Briton. Canada grow to be slightly of Briton. Suggesting that slaves further distress on themselves by using fact they did no longer combat for the folk who have been enslaving them is the main ridiculous argument I relatively have ever heard. you're certainly attempting to rewrite historic past, there isn't any question that your version is consistent with a lame attempt to justify previous injustices.

I was not aware that we did. They do not make spectacles of themselves or have behavior that we see as offensive in public like so many others do. Maybe that is why.
