PLEASE TOTALLY DISREGARD THE ANSWER GIVEN BY THE FIRST PERSON TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.....

Australia fought with the allied forces, France Britain and Russia And the USA WHEN they finally entered the war LATE in 1917.. ( and also many other nations the kiwis the canadians etc INCLUDING JAPAN .. ie they were our allies in World War ONE)

those we fought against were Germany, Turkey(the ottoman empire), Austria-Hungry, and Bulgaria

Too many people FORGET that Japan was an ally during World War One..

here is a VERY USEFUL LINK for you to keep and save to help you with your homework in the future :

and a useful one BUT your teachers won't usually approve of it .. I generally just use it to bounce off to other sites...

EDIT: I just re-read my post and The way i have worded it might imply to some that the nations in brackets also joined the war in 1917 .. NOT SO .. Canada and New Zealand declared war in a matter of a few days of Great Britian doing so .. AND they did the same in 1939 and didn't have to wait until their own interests were attacked .. The Kiwis and The Canadians are among the BEST allies any nation can have.. NB and I AM NOT a Kiwi)
