As previously stated, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) makes movies because he makes more money with less risk and wear and tear on his body. He also gets to spend a lot more time with his family. He's not officially retired, either, but he likely won't come back to the ring.
Paul Wight (Big Show) isn't officially retired. He's taking time off to heal from the toll life in the WWE has taken on his body. His contract has also expired with the WWE, so if he comes back at all, it might not be with the WWE. However, I really don't expect him to come back. He's stated in a few interviews that he's really comfortable financially and doesn't feel like he has anything left to prove.

The Rock has not retired, his contract with the wwe expired in late 2004 it was at this tym that his success in hollywood was booming. As for the big show that extreme elimination chamber match in 2006, Dec, left him with multiple injuries, so it was for the best just to retire, like Austin did in 2004 to concentrate more on making movies.

The Rock retired because he want to concentrate on acting.
Big Show hasn't officialy retired, but he is taking time out due a back injury.

Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) makes more money with less effort by going to Hollywood. Paul Wight (The Big Show) is simply taking some time off to heal and to consider if he wants to continue wrestling or not.

They have not retired from wwe but are busy with their hollywood careers , same with austin but austin also has a knee injury which prevents him from wrestling .

the rock wanted the money and thats in hollywood. as for big shpw his gigantism was destroying his body. remember andre,he died from gigantism becuz he kept wrestling when he shouldnt have,big show wants to last longer then andre

the rock wanted to be actor which he is much better at but i still liked him as a wrestler and the big show retired because he got beat up to many times cuz he was sh1t sh1t sh1t
