Robberies dont occur inn Western Sydney only.. you must be leaving your doors or windows open, or doing something wrong.
I live out west and have been living in the same property since 1993 and not once have i been robbed. Get an alarm system, lock your doors and windows and then you might notice a change....

Sydney is certainly "more dangerous" on average than, say, Alice Springs, but far less "dangerous" than average towns in many, many other countries. If you have really been robbed six times in Sydney, that says more about YOU than it does about the city! You need to change the way you are doing something!

While there are "professional crooks" everywhere, by far the most common crime that occurs is "opportunistic" crime... If you leave your car door unlocked with a bag of money on the seat, or you walk around with a really fat wallet hanging out of your back pocket, or you leave your laptop computer in plain view through the front window of your house, there are many, many people who are not "regular" law-breakers who will be tempted enough to take advantage. To be robbed 6 times, you must be at least a little guilty of behaving this way, or of spending too much time loitering in "high crime" areas!

Best wishes...

Generally I give Sydney a big miss as much as possible, but if you must live in the place, don't pick el cheapo suburbs, because el cheapo suburbs are full of el cheapo people. Friend of mine has lived in the western part of Hornsby since 1976 and never has had problems.

maite if you doodle around dangerous areas at 1 in the morning what do you expect. Let common sense prevail. Sydney is no more dangerous than any other place.

Was there actually a question there? I lived there most of my life and nothing ever happened to me or any one of my friends. I suggest staying out of those suburbs.
