What could cause my computer to say a password to get into an account is not valid?

I have 5 accounts set up 2 are administrator accts 3 are limited 3 of them are password protected. Only one would not accept the password so I had to go in and delete it. This is at initial log on before ever getting to yahoo.

I am the admin. I removed the password to get tinto the acct. but my Q is what made it lock out a valid password and how do I fix that?

I"m going to venture out and say you are running Windows 2000 Professional or XP Pro. I say this becuase the PROFESSIONAL series is the only 2 Windows releases that dealt with Subscription expiration (Besides Server 2003). I run a DSL-Server at this office and I frequently have to go in and resetup accounts. It wasn't until a 10 year old told me to go into the Control Panel and set the accounts to NEVER EXPIRE....


Your PW is not what is getting locked out, it's the entire account. Now there were inperfections in this portion of windows and it didn't function properly. It has since then been rewritten for Vista and that's about the only thing in Vista that is working lol.

So from Control Panel, access USERS and edit each account so it doesn't expire. Also hit PASSWORDS while you are in the Control Panel and makesure theres no loose settings there that need to be ironed out. Contact me for more assitance.

properly that's achieveable yet I form of doubt it. only questioning how come you probably did no longer have the password, it became your computing gadget suitable? form of wierd, sounds like your son is over-controlling, no offense. He could have positioned a key logger or different form of gadget to video reveal key strokes yet technically those are unlawful without the persons consent or searching on state regulation. If he did have a document on you and it got here out of your computing gadget which couldn't be utilized in courtroom if it became stolen or taken out of your computing gadget without permission it can get thrown out of courtroom. interior the acceptable i do not really imagine he did some thing on your computing gadget. you have to log in as an adiministrator to create changes in the account. just log on and delete the account..
