I keep having 3 reguarly reoccurring dreams. Does anyone know what they mean psychologically.

The first is:
I am walking somewhere, when all of a sudden my legs are so heavy and they hurt so much that I can no longer walk. I am stuck in one place, although I can move painfully slowly by lifting each leg with my hands and moving it into position, but it hurts and is soooooo slow that I am virtually immobile.

The second is:
I am talking to my brother(who was killed last year in a car accident. We were very close). He is sitting on the floor and he is decomposing. As I move, my leg touches his and his flesh sticks to me, then I wake up.

The third is:
My hands are completely black and are being eaten by maggots and other insects. When I shake them, some maggots etc fly out. This is the whole dream.

I do not believe in life after death, so please no spiritual answers, only psychological ones.
Serious answers only please.

I am not afraid of dying and dont feel any fear in any of my dreams although I do feel uncomfortable when I am speaking to my brother(and then guilty for feeling uncomfortable). I feel frustratedin the dream when I can't walk and intrigued in the one with the nasty hand.

Just a guess Kaz, OK? Your heavy legs could mean you feel stuck, the appearance of your brother could show you what you're stuck on. The third dream seems to indicate the whole experience is frightening and hurtful. You need to know if you have properly grieved over his passing IMO.

There could be a thousand reasons, but here is my take on it:

The heavy legs mean you are dreading something. Is there a particular place that you are walking to?

I think all 3 things have to do with your brothers death.
Your mind uses dreams to sort through the crap that acumulates in your brain and emotions and deals with and discards the stuff it doesn't need or hasn't dealt with.
The heavy legs could be the dread you feel about death or the fear of dying.
Your mind knows that your brothers body is decomposing, and although you would love to be able to sit and talk with him, you can not picture him whole. A suggestion for this is to imagine him from now on as a spiritual being, not as a body that you knew. Perhaps then your mind will picture him more as a ghost or an angel in future dreams.
In the 3rd, again, your mind is focused on the decomposition of the body after death. It is a combination of your fear of death and the knowlege of decomposition.
I was so grossed out by this when I was very young, that I decided by the time I was 7 or 8 years old that I wanted to be cremated.
You need to remember that a body is not the person. Once the body ceases to exist, the spirit or the energy that made up the person is no longer there. I won't debate whether there is another plane to which that spirit or energy goes, but the body is just a casing.
You may not believe in life after death, and I am not sure I do, but I do know there is an energy or spirit that is the true person, not the body it is housed in.
Dealing with the loss of someone close to you is hard. But try to focus less on the body of the deceased and more on the person that they were. You will work through this eventually, I hope, and things will improve with time. I wish you the best.

My first impression is that you are afraid of death catching up to you and over-taking you. That sounds right to me. But only you know if that's the emotion the dream projects. Fear of death is common but living it firsthand, as you had to do with your brother, is certainly a lot scarier than most people could endure. Good luck Honey. Stay strong. @8-) (I'm sorry about your brother) Bless your Sweet Heart. Those dreams will go away someday, never to return.

You might have ate or drank a lot of sugar a couple hours before bed making your dreams wacko

A great deal depends on when each dream started, how often you have them and if there are any "triggers" in waking life. If you would like to explore them more deeply I would suggest this group:

this is EASY, you WANT something, but at the same time you feel there will be obstacles getting in the way, you are running away from it because you feel you are not good enough or even you dont deserve it. FEAR

you know what you need is a change of scenery.
The dreams are just things that are close to you.
Try a holiday and get some drink in you that your dreams will convert to funny pleasant ones .
