okay, i should be discouraging you from doing this, but instead i will just tell you this. i tried this a couple of years ago. i used a sewing needle, i used ice to numb it. it didn't work for me. the hole was to small to get a navel ring through. and when i went last year to get my belly button done professionally, the piercer had a hard time doing it because of what he called excessive scar tissue.

but my sister did the same method about 2 months ago, she too used a sewing needle and numbed it with ice. the only difference is she forced a navel ring through the wound. she has had some infection and the first ring she put in was to heavy, and it stretched the hole a bit. if you do this, which i still advise against, make sure you clean it like 4 or more times a day, and put only a plain boring surgical steel bar through it. don't play with it, and if you see any infection go to the doctor!!

Yah its good to go to the pharmacy or any safe medical practitioner that is good at that but since you plan to do it at home traditionally.Go ahead using a steriliased nail and attach a robber rope with at the end so that it came out of the pierce hole then you add some beautiful beads to tire it given it nice look. You can take some vitamin and ampiclox caps.Have a nice trial.Later you can out go for the belly ring after it must have hailed.

DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF!! You are open to infection and could end up with a horrible scar if it all goes wrong. Go to a piercing professional. I have had mine done and it does not hurt at all if a professional does it. They have all the correct equipment and can numb the area quickly and effectively. It is well worth getting it done, but as I said DO NOT do it yourself...please!

DON'T.. Please have it done by a professional. I had mine done and realised that it could have caused REAL problems if I'd had it done by anyone else. It can infect SO easily.
Get a titanium bar, after you've had it done, you mustn't change it for about 6 weeks I think, just bathe it and dab a little antiseptic cream on it a couple of times a day.
If you wreck it by doing it yourself, it may scar badly and open up a MASSIVE hole in your belly button, I know a girl who did it.

I suggest you dont do that. But if you end up doing it anyway, a needle has to be thick enough so that the hole it makes will let you place jewelry in it. But don't leave the needle in since it could
make your piercing end in a disaster.

No that is not ok.

A regular needle is not wide enough for the standard belly button rings. You need to have a professional do it.

if ur doing it urself its not bad its dangerous. find a pro....and ive heard it hurts for like 5 days two of my friends just got theirs pierced.
it looks cool but u gota be careful because in the first week it can get infected really easily.
dont take it out it will close up easily.
numbing it...well my friend said they gave her this injection, then they stuck hte needle up.
i really say u needa find a decent place cus if its not done properly it is really not worth it.

have fun

wow.....yeah......you don't want to do that yourself sweetie....I've had mine done twice, and its not something YOU can do. Your piercing could easily, very easily get infected, be sideways, not be deep enough, and get rejected by your body......many things can go wrong. I'm assuming your parents won't let you have one, right? There is a reason for their choices they make. Your idea is a bad one.......ABORT! ONLY have piercings done by qualified individuals.
