Do some research by checking what they sell for on ebay, you can check closed auctions and see what they sold for, Please be aware that unless you have any on the HMV label ( not 78`s) lp`s or ep,s you are not very likely to be sitting on a fortune.

I wouldn't go to ebay. Only because people will either under price a record because they don't know what they have or over price because it's Elvis. I see this a lot on Ebay. Over pricing could work both for and against you. You would get more for the record, but if you get people that know their stuff, it could affect your chances if you decide to sell.

Two suggestions, first, check out your local antique store. They may have a record expert. If you don't have a local antique store or they don't have a record appraiser, go to Jerry Osborne.

Jerry Osborne is a record expert. He is well-known and the only one I will trust if I ever need any records or any Elvis stuff appraised. I actually need to get my Elvis collection insured and I will be in contact with him when I do that. As far as Elvis is concerned, he put together this awesome book called Presleyana V (http://www.jerryosborne.com/elvis.htm). It is the one and only price guide available on Elvis. It is a book that tells you values of Elvis records, 8-tracks, collectibles. He even does online appraisals. If you are going to get this book and can wait, please do. Presleyana V is the most current and only book available right now, but it is also about 4 or 5 years old. However, come July 2007, a new, updated book, Presleyana VI is being released. If your an Elvis fan and collect, this book is a must.
