Maybe a month, if you're lucky!! I know the excitement of sneaking out, I used to do it myself. It's exciting because the risk of getting caught. I never got caught, but I did break my wrist. My cousin and I climbed on top of an elementary school roof so we could steal a snake. Not too smart. A ghetto bird came at us with the big light, and like a retard I jumped off the roof. The cops didn't see us, but I broke my wrist when I fell. Had to wake up my uncle so he could take me to the hospital. Sneaking out is not as much fun as it sounds like. If you want respect and trust, try earning it. Don't lie and be home when he tells you. Act responsible and I'm willing to bet your dad will lighten up on you. As long as you act like a child, you will, and should be treated like one.

Your dad was in the military so I'm sure you'll be grounded for at least three years. That's OK though because by then you'll be able to get your drivers license if you still know what a car looks like.

Tell your dad to ground you for one month and then tell him you'll read 20 pages in a book every day for two months and at the end of each week you'll write a small summary of what you read that week. You might also want to throw in 20 push-ups per day just to pander to his military programming and maybe you can also shine some shoes like they do in the military.

If you do all of these things, your punishment should be over in no time.

Oh yeah, write all of this down on a sheet of paper and sign it and let him sign it so it makes it look like you're willing to be held to a contract. Military guys like order and efficiency so a contract should be right down his alley.

parent swill always say that youre grounded for a really long time but then will go soft on you and let you off on an easier punishment.. but since you said your dad was in the military or something like that, then he might be more leiant on you being punished and will probably not let down on your consequences... i would say he's probably ground you for a month... or 2..

i think you should write a long sorry letter about what made you do that and why.Tell him how sorry you are and that you will never do it again and if you do to punish you as long as you live but tell him that for now you are very sorry. If your dad has a heart then he will accept and probably give you a lecture and that's it.
