but it is still classed as a third word country.
As an Englishman it always amazes me how USAers think that they are the wealthiest and most powerful country, but they are still classed as a third world country.
I have been to the "land of the free" and most people were in jail or had no shoes.
I find the attitude of "richer" USAers disgraceful

US of A used to great.
Great economy, strong dollar, and really upholding the Constitution that is uniquely American.

Unfortunately, these past 6 years has seen the current administration make a mockery of the forefather's dream.

The Katrina fiasco illustrates how vulnerable US is. Until today, New Orleans is but a whisper, a shadow of it's former self.
There's no money left to rebuild the city, since all is funneled to the war in Iraq.
The current deficit stands at 300 billions dollars in the red.
This will take it's toil on the future generation; a financial burden that will weaken America further. Many who left their homes are not going back any time soon. I hope New Orleans will not be forgotten for too long.

So while it has no capabilities to fix this and many other problems at home, the current administration had the audacity to go to another country to tell them how to live their lives. What a mockery it is to the American public. Charity begins at home, folks.

America is weaken by the war in Iraq, by it's steadfast unwillingness to listen to the rest of the world. Infuriatingly George W. Bush isn't winding the Iraq war down; he's ratcheting it up. Meanwhile, Two-thirds of the Iraqis say they have no faith in American troops and that their presence makes things worse; more than half say it's acceptable to attack the GIs. But withdrawal would leave civilians at the mercy of corrupt, inept and sectarian leaders and security forces, so only 35% say they want the troops out now.

It's tough.
But I know this war was doomed from the beginning. The question is, why did the administration risked so much to invade Iraq? Who told them the odds were good?

Everyone with a nationalist outlook lives in the greatest nation.

We have cities full of millionaires that have to pay little or no taxes and the middle class and the poor happily pick up the tab, while watching in absolute fascination as 16 year old girls get parties worth more than the annual incomes of 90% of the kids that attend.

That isn't great?

This isn't just one or two of your Royal Family's kids, we get new spoiled brats every week for half the year!

What isn't great about a Nation, whose leader takes the country to war, sacrificing thousands of our not excessively rich kids, and sends his military age daughters to party and booze it up in South America?

Most people are not in jail here. That is just silly. We only have about 7 million people involved in the wrong end of our legal system. And only half of those are drug related. And only half of the drug related are for amounts consistent with only personal use or paraphernalia.

It is the best drug treatment system in the world. We take simple users and put them in with the violent criminals, ensure constant access to drugs while incarcerated, and societal segregation upon release until we can figure out how to get those three strikes on them.

Freedom is only for those can can afford their habits. When they clean up years later, after erasing convictions or pleading out, they can use it in their campaigns. "I Learned my lesson!"

The rich get free travel, free meals, free financing, we are the land of the free. with approved financing, for the most qualified applicants only.

Third world country - Not.

We feed most of our children, "educate" them based on family income and location. We house them like cattle for eight hours or more a day, forcing Pavlovian responses with obnoxious buzzers that we fondly call bells. We ensure they have the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch daily. A pre-packaged feast of food substitutes, fillers, sugar, and additives, carefully microwaved by hand.

All our children have shoes, and those that don't can pick up a used pair of size 13 shoes from the gym lost and found. This ensures proper degradation by all the children in the income levels above.

Our media provides an absolutely irreplaceable function here as well. Now it matters which store you purchase your clothing at. No longer can those pesky poor kids get away with wearing clothes that look rich. If you didn't pay 10 times the lowest retail value, you can still be ridiculed.

Not Great? Please.

We don't know if we are the wealthiest, but the world knows we are the most powerful. If we were not, could we have invaded Iraq?

Not Great maybe, but the Brits were following on fabulously!

We have more of the most powerful nuclear weapons than all of the other nuclear nations in the world. We have the most sophisticated and technical delivery and defensive systems the world has ever seen.

Our defenses are so strong no nation in the world would dare to confront us head-on. We are shielded around the clock by the biggest baddest flying death machines in the world. No airborne threat from missile or plane could ever penetrate err - As long as you are not an in-firmed terrorist leader in a cave in Afghanistan, we fear you not!

OK I have had my fun.

Now I will give you the real answer to the question.

America is the greatest country because it is the ONLY country in the world that EVERY nation in the world watches.

We have no idea what is going on in your government, or any
other, except for our government/media propaganda.

Why? We don't really care.

We, even the poorest, shoe-less, fatherless, homeless bums are the sweet 16's for the world and you are all the ones watching the show on your TVs.

If only that were true.
I've read where people in countries like North Korea have never heard of things like global warming. There are totally unaware of any goings on in the world. They could care less what the world thinks. They just live their lives in their own little sphere.
It must be nice not to be responsible for all the woes in the world.

Interesting that a Wanker with a Mohawk makes a comment like this. Tell us, why the Mohawk? What image are you trying to portray?

Also interesting is the grossly improper use of the passive voice by this loyale subject who should be well versed in the Queen's English. Note the phrase "they are still classed", vice the more proper "I classify them as." Yes, the proper sentence would have stated who is doing the classification, in this case, it is your tiny little pea brain.

Eureka! Now I understand, the Mohawk is an attempt to expose more of that little pea to the sun, with the hope that it will grow.
