I studied a beauty course & they recommended an USA product which they also sell in UK, it's a polish called "Nail Magic". It's worth giving a go and is meant to help brittle and weak nails.

For long term improvement, I'd recommend olive oil in your diet, and rubbed into the base of the nail.
For very quick results, there's a commercial product which I have used which worked well and you just put a little on every couple of days.
