My boyfriend and i have been going out for almost 2 years. For the last couple of months, he hasnt been wanting sex as often as we used to. We would have sex like once a week. I was wondering if practicing celibacy for a while would help? Maybe stop having sex, which would make him want it more and more? Or do you think it would ruin us, and make us grow further apart?

Sometimes while dating it is possible to just simply stop being attracted to that person. It happened with the last girl I dated. I just lost interest. Seeing her naked did nothing for me. He sure as 4ell isn't going to tell you this. I'd rather chew off my own arm then tell a woman that I'm no longer sexually attracted to her!

I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time understanding this. Your boyfriend is turning down sex? I think I have to be the voice for men everywhere when I say, "WHAT!?!?". Tell him to remove his tampon and give it his best go. I've never turned down sex. Never. Not with a headache, not while nauseous, not while tired, or while stressed. Less than once a week and he's 19? Maybe ask him if he wants to break it off.

Dr. Phil or someone stupid like that would tell you to try and spice things up in the bedroom or something like that. But having been there, first hand, I can tell you that this is his way of letting you down softly. I don't know the exact details, but seeing as how he's making an effort to stop from giving and recieving sexual contact, there is only one thing that could be happening.

He's going to break up with you and find someone else. I don't understand why, cause from the looks of things he has it made, but that's definitely why. He's probably found someone who is just oriented on the sexual nature and less on a relationship.

How old are you? When I was young, couple of days ago, twice a day was about right. Once a week is celibacy. Sounds like this honeymoon is over. Are you the only girlfriend or is he 60?

A couple can be perfectly happy without having any sex at all - provided that both partners are content to have a celibate relationship. If however one partner wants it and the other doesn't - then you're headed for trouble.
