Sheryl Crow said "Let’s face it, it undermines art in every way and promotes commercialism, I am sad people love it so." Crow said in the interview with MSNBC.

I say if American Idol were around when she was a struggling singer she would have auditioned for it too. What do you think does American idol produce legitimate "artists" or does it undermine the art as Ms Crow says?

I think its a great opportunity for undiscovered artists to show what they can do.I'm surprised Ms Crow would say something like that. She must know how difficult it is for artists to get into the business. Even if someone like Taylor Hicks ends up winning ( I don't think he can sing) it still gives the rest of them the chance to be heard. So its a win / win situation as far as I'm concerned.

look, The founding fathers stipulated in basic terms 2 situations to be President: you will possibly desire to be a US-born citizen and you will possibly desire to be 35+ years previous. there's a reason they did no longer throw in issues like "you will possibly desire to have been interior the defense force" or "you will possibly desire to belong to a undeniable faith" or "you will possibly desire to very own 25 polka music albums". Being President is purely all approximately having the convictions to stand up and say "definite, i'm going to shield the form" and "definite, i'm going to lead". And to cajole those which you comprehend the responsibilites and might do the activity. that's not substantial in case you're a plumber, a farmer, a chef, a vehicle salesman, a 50 365 days profession baby-kisser or a lumberjack. and that's what makes us of a great.
