Most people say Jordan is better because he won more rings. But lets make this clear.
Jordan had Pippen, Paxon, and Horace Grant to help him win his first 3 rings. Then he had Pippen again, Rodman, and Steve Kerr to win 3 more rings.
If Shaq stayed, Kobe could have won 5 rings by now.
Lakers does not have anybody except Kobe, and by the way,
Kobe Bryant just dropped 50+ for the 4th straight game.
He was robbed of the MVP by Nash last season, this is his season again.

First of all, it's not our bussiness their personal life, everybody makes mistakes cuz' we're humans. Second, Kobe is more talented wise offensively but never better than MJ. 40 plus points in 4 games ain't mean that you're better than MJ. Kobe had Shaq who was the leader, but MJ was the man on that team. He had pippen but is not the same pippen to jordan than shaq to kobe. Most of the people that ask this question never saw mj really play. Before the league was a lot tougher, I can't imagine what MJ would do now with these rules. He would probably score more or as much as kobe. MJ was better defensively too.

Kobe better than MJ? - NO
Sure Kobe is the best player on the planet as of right now, but saying that his better MJ is just moronic, & I'll prove it.
NBA titles: MJ - 6 (also 6 Finals MVP)
Kobe - 3 (0 Finals MVP)
NBA MVP: MJ - 5
Kobe - 0
All NBA 1st team: MJ - 10
Kobe - 4
Def player of the year: MJ - 1
Kobe - 0
All NBA 1st Def team: MJ - 9
Kobe - 4
rookie of the year: MJ - yes
Kobe - no
scoring titles: MJ - 10
Kobe - 2 (including this year)
I could go on and on, but the result is always almost the same:
Jordan > Kobe.
But let's give Kobe credit: -81 points
-12 3-pointers made in a game
-recent 4 game 50+ points games
- & so on
Now if you look at career averages, again MJ > kobe
Points: MJ - 30.1
Kobe - 22.9
Assist: MJ - 5.3
Kobe - 4.5
Rebounds: MJ - 6.2
Kobe - 4.9
Steals: MJ - 2.35
Kobe - 1.3
I can still continue but more of the same. Therefore we can conclude that MJ is better than Kobe offensively, defensively, whatever you name it. And don't give me "well MJ had Pippen, Rodman, Kerr" b/c Kobe had Shaq, Horry, Fox, Fischer.
To all Kobe lovers - There's no shame in being #2 to MJ consider it an honour.
Another thing MJ was part of the greatest team in NBA history, the Chicago Bulls of 1995-96 going 72-10 followed by 69-13 the following season
And lastly, MJ made those around him better, which Kobe has yet to do - think Odom (should be an all-star)
I could continue forever, but it's getting late & I'm tired. Let's stop these "Kobe better than MJ" posts cause it pretty pointless. Jordan is the greatest #1, better than Russell, Magic, Larry, Chamberlain, etc
Some quotes about MJ:
"There's Michael Jordan and then there is the rest of us."- Magic Johnson
"God disguised as Michael Jordan. " - Larry Bird after MJ dropped record 63 points in playoffs
Comparing Kobe to MJ is like comparing Wade to Kobe,
is Wade better than Kobe? (My answer would be NO)
TO LIA:
you say "please don't compare stats" - fine, then we shall compare achievemants, where MJ dominates in all categories, see top of answer in achievemants

Do a little more research into Michael Jordan's career before you say something stupid like that retard Jemele Hill on ESPN.com.
Both of you just talk of how MJ is just as bad off the court as MJ and this and that while saying Kobe is the best ever because he can score a lot.
30.1 CAREER PPG. 20+PPG a season after 40 years old. TEN consecutive scoring titles. Playoff record 63 points in one game.
That is just the scoring which Kobe is lauded for. MJ was better in every single way. The only way Kobe is better than MJ is that he's a flashier shooter. That's all it is. Flash. He doesn't shoot better than Jordan did, he just looks prettier doing it. If that makes him better, I don't know what planet you all are living on.
When Kobe is throwing up 60 in the playoffs instead of against the memphis grizzlies who might not win 20 games, put things in perspective a little better.
To master T
Kobe had 3 future hall of famers with him one year and didn't win a title. When you talk about support cast in reference to accomplishments. Jordan regularly averaged 35+PPG without any help. Kobe is averaging 30. When they both had help, Jordan averaged about 30. Kobe averaged about 27.

in sports, it has to be next to impossible to compare players from different era's. I mean its easy to compare Yao and Shaq, or Kobe and D-Wade, or any other two, three, or ten players who are in the league at the SAME time, but trying to do it for players who never legitamately played against eachother is pretty impossible. The positions required different things at the time. For all those saying the competition was better when Jordan was playing, I think thats a load of rubbish. You probably had greater INDIVIDUALS in the league, but with the elevated talent level of guys like Jerry Stackhouse coming off the bench for the BEST team in the NBA Dallas Mavericks, its tough to say the league's competition level is going down. Many of the bench players of today would start on teams 10 years ago. Its also not fair to compare personal lives, because honestly it doesnt mean a thing as to how great they are, if it did Ty Cobb wouldnt be considered one of the best baseball players of all time. For most of the people on the planet today, Michael Jordan was to Basketball what Babe Ruth was to baseball. Their names are practically synonomous with their sports in that they have completely transcended the game and become absolute legends. Kobe is the man, I was one of the few who still supported him during all the **** people wanted to talk about him with the Shaq and that whore from Colorado, and it is very likely he too will transcend this game like MJ did, but as for right now, Kobe aint in the conversation.....re-post this question the day Kobe retires and you may receive some VERY different answers....

From a pure skill set point of view i think Kobe is better than Jordan at the same stage in their careers. They have similar competitiveness and will to win on the court. However, Jordan's popularity outshines Kobe by a long margin and he made his teammates better, for example guys like Luc Longley is a nothing player without Jordan and he turned out to be a solid big man while playing with Jordan and the Bulls. Im a huge Kobe fan but I have to go with Jordan here he was a near God in his time.

Wassup Miles I think you bro I additionally consider you, however No Kobe Fan goes to come back on right here and hit you with evidence or good judgment that Kobe is higher due to the fact so much of them fairly dont recognize something, I even query plenty of customers skills at the sport of Basketball. Just like Mamba mentioned part of those Lakers and Kobe enthusiasts listed here are younger youngsters, who certainly not noticeable Jordan in movement. Look at one of the most solutions you acquired thus far a few of them are answering stuff as sensible as "Kobee" or calling Jordan an historic guy, All immature solutions a truly Basketball fan will certainly not disrespect MJ like that.

Kobe is the better player; He has proven a lot more at his age than what Jordan did. Kobe Jumped from High School to The NBA and won his three championships before Jordan.
The scary thing about it Kobe's only 27 years old, and will break a lot more records

Noway, don't get me wrong, Kobe is a kick *** player and is probably top of the league right now....but....Jordan is way better in my opinion. For one, Jordan could be put together with any teammates and win championships, his game was a level or two above anyone in the world. Kobe can't be put together with many people because he is a little power hungry and wants to be in control of the game; him and Shaq are a good example. The two of them together should have never lost any games, but Kobe got too power hungry and let his ego get in the way of being a good baller. It's just my opnion though.

Pippen didn't win a title without Jordan but Shaq won without Kobe. That tells me that Michael Jordan was better than Kobe Bryant.
However, Magic Johnson was a better all-around player than both of them or anyone else in NBA history.
