We were wild and crazy as kids. We had a friend we called "Doody" who was strong as an ox. He would pick up garbage cans and toss them at the door....old school baby lol.

I remember doing this when I was 12, in the early 70's.....I did the same thing but with a shopping cart! I'll never forget it, as when I rammed the shopping cart to his door, it knocked it down....didn't mean to do it but I did, the guy was higher than a kite! My younger sister & I still talk about this! Thanks for bringing back the memories!!

Not really. We were raised in the Midwest of the USA, attended Catholic School, lived in a small town, and everybody-knew-everybody. The closest we got to doing this was to talk about setting a paper bag, full of dog droppings, on fire, and ringing the door bell. In theory the owner would come to the door and start to stamp on the fire with predictable results. I honestly don't ever recall anybody doing this, so it must have been something that was heard about on TV or simply an urban myth. Not actually very funny, and potentially very dangerous.
We did think we were a "tough" crowd, until we met a "tough" crowd, then we were just friendly guys. Our city cops knew that if anything happened in a given neighborhood, they could bet dollars to donuts that they knew which group of kids did it.
It wasn't so much that we had Barney Fief cops, as we had Otis Spunkmier criminals!
I hope your life has become more interesting that it started out. Mine has, with the addition of traveling, drinking, eating a variety of foods, and taking real risks.

Yes, and to us, it was like going to Disneyland! We had so much fun with silly stuff and were quite naiv I'd say but hey, we really enjoyed outdoor fun.
I'm not that old, but we hardly sat in front of the tv.!!

sshhhhhhh....used to do that at a fancy house outside my neighborhood. This house was really
la ti da...we used to ring the doorbell, run and hide and watch the butler answer the door.....he'd say something under his breath every time... (ha !)

oh yeh! coz we live in flats so its very easy to do so! we juz run along one chosen storey and press each and every doorbell before we all run down the stairs to the void deck and reward ourselves with ice cream for cheeky jobs well done..

omg I'm doing the [I'm going to strangle someone] thing with my hands. I have such bad memories with that. in other words, yes I've done that but always got caught.
