Monotune & polytune ( Hope you mean monophonic & polyphonic !) refer to the two different ways the music notes of a mobile ringtone are recreated by synthesis of electronic frequencies in a handset.

In monophonic , only one frequency is used as a base frequency whose picth is varied according to the notes of the tune being played. Hence, monophonic tunes will alwyas sound unnatural and monotonous. The tune will contain the effect of only unnatural synthetic instrument (the synthetic frequency use by the generator) Old mobile phones had this kind of tone genrators.

In case of polyphonic tunes, it is an entirely different cocept.

WE distinguish one insttrumet from the other by the way it creates the fundamental note and its harmonics, giving an instrument its individual tonal personality. This is known as timbre. The timbre is thus a complex synthesis of a number of(poly) frequencies -called spectrum and how their amplitude changes with time according an ENVELOPE. Hence the term Polyphony. This is the reason why a guitar sounds so different from a piano even if playing the same note. This synthesized music is therefore much more realistic and rich in tonal quality even if it is playing a single instrument than Monophonic music .

(This is akin to viewing objects in Sodium light where all shades appaer to be of same color -mostly monochromatic-yellow and viewing it with other light like natural Sunlight, GLS lamp, Halogen lamp, flusoroscent lamp etc. where you can see all the colors in all subtle shades. )

Computer technology allows us to store or synthesize these timbres for a variety of instruments according to what is known as MIDI standard. Each instrument is created using a mathematical algorithm to simulate the spectrum & envelope of that particular instrument type. The tune (music) filles are therefore very small - because the intrument music code actually resides in the computer's/ phone's syntehsizer and the file merely invokes the requiste instrument as per the timing & pitch requirements in the ringtone MIDI file.
The same has been adopted for mobiles. So even if your tune contains only a single instrument like guitar, the effect will be almost same as that of a real guitar. Apart from realistic music, the small music files fit neatly in the limited memory of the mobille handset- a great advantage.

You can in fact synthesize your own polyphonic music on your PC with a number of programs called MIDI editors. And you can download these to your mobile using data cable and the software provided by the Mobile manufacturer.

they're really different kinds of song. R&B falls alongside the strains of chuck berry (the actual king of rock and roll). later R&B became soul song, it really is alongside the strains of berry white and teddy pendergrass. Hip hop is an same as rap. only listen and also you'll listen the version. new jack swing became a revival of massive band swing of the forties (large stuff). jodeci is R&B yet is mandatory that that's termed new wave R&B as this makes it sparkling that the aren't from now on Cab Calloway or all of us from the forties.
