Yes definitely get him a cake, you can't have a birthday without the cake. I don't know which part of the country you live in but we always get our cake from a french bakery chain called Maison Blanc. They have the yummiest cakes starting at about £14 and they are light airy and don't bloat you up like your average cake. They are cakes of quality and not just sugar and icing.

Of course you should get him a cake. Whats his favorite cake... Then improve on it. My hubby always wants chocolate cake. So each year I have to hunt for a more interesting version. Good luck. I hope you both have a wonderful day

Try and make one. If you have 30 minutes to spare today you can make a simple sponge cake. I'm sure it would be more appreciated than anything shop bought.
I made a cheesecake for my boyfriend's birthday. It was quite simple to make, but needed three hours in the fridge to set.
