all boa constrictors and anacondas have live babies plus a few other types too, they are called viviparous(http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/encyclopaedia/hutchinson/m0006891.html) and its not due to cold climate, there is no way to answer why though, that is like asking why dont humans lay eggs.

I think it's just based on different species. There are some that will lay eggs and some that will give birth. If you check out the library I'm sure that they will have some books based on that.

All snakes which live in cool climates give birth to live young because laid eggs will not be warm enough to develop properly.

they don't really give birth to there babies the eggs hatch inside the mother
