New age spirituals use crystals, rocks, minerals to HEAL?

They use Rocks, minerals, quartz crystals, and things like that for healing.

Can somebody please explain what is up with that?

Thus any human being who can attune to the power of the quartz crystal becomes attuned with the aura of Grandmother Earth, and obtains the ability to communicate directly with Spiritual worlds.

the theory I like the best to explain the healings that I have seen, is that the crystals are a instrument to focus/magnify energy from the healer to a persons injury or infection so the person can more effectively heal and/or fight the microbes

every use I have found for crystals has been to focus energy but I have not found any use of crystals that uses them efectivly in any other form

I personally do believe that Crystals, especially Shaman's Crystals and their therapy works. There is a lot to be said for the vibrational effect and resonance of all things from the Earth and how living more in harmony with the Natural World can have a profound effect on one's health and well being as well as increased positive attitude to the immediate and surrounding environment.
